Where is the Proof?

If you look at the ‘Dispute Resolution’ home page of the Firm’s website, you will note that “we aim to resolve disputes on behalf of clients as quickly and as cost-effectively as possible”. While this is a boast of many solicitors, we have the track record to back it up.

The perceived wisdom is that the harder money is to come by, the more parties are inclined to sue each other and the less inclined they are to compromise and, therefore, settle at an early stage. The perception (and in our experience the reality) is that litigation declines in times of economic prosperity and stability and thrives in an adverse economic downturn. You will know (and perhaps have already experienced) that money has become much tighter since the ‘credit crunch’ began last autumn. This has certainly been reflected in the amount of new contentious matters on which we have been instructed by both existing and new clients.

However, we have still been able to fulfil our ‘boast’. For example, of the new instructions received by Robert Johnson since November 2007, eleven of them have now been resolved without the need for legal proceedings and all on terms satisfactory to the clients.

“John and I are both extremely satisfied with the service we have received. We have at all times felt comfortable that the advice we were getting was the best and most importantly, it was conveyed in a language we could understand. Once again, thank you very much”, Chris Taylor of 3V.

“Robert Johnson is one of those rare lawyers who doesn’t erect a wall between himself and his client. You don’t feel you are talking to the Law Society’s answer to a ‘speak your weight’ machine. He listens, is responsive and his advice is always spot on”, Anthony Frewin.

“I have used a number of companies over the years for litigation and have been particularly impressed with the service I have received from Robert Johnson at Healys. Most solicitors we have dealt with often take years to return a phone call and I have found that you continually have to chase them to take the next
action – with Robert that was not the case, I can honestly say that I have never dealt with such a pro active solicitor. Thank you Robert!”, Andy Smith First Property Investments Ltd.

While we seek to resolve disputes on behalf of clients as early as possible, we do not do so at any cost. We are just as capable and experienced in litigating matters (where appropriate) all the way to trial.
