Instructing a good professional negligence lawyer is paramount

According to Ministry of Justice research published recently, most consumers cannot tell a good lawyer from a bad one.  According to the survey, 83% of the 939 respondents agreed with this statement "most people would not know how to tell a good provider of legal services from a bad one".

We disagree.  We think most discerning consumers who are prepared to carry out a small amount of research will be able to improve substantially their prospects of engaging a good lawyer.  Certainly, we at Healys consider that we fall within such a category.  Please see what our existing clients think about us by clicking the testimonials icon on our website.

Having said that, it is possible that even (having carried out some research) you engage a solicitor who does not deliver the quality of advice and service that you had expected.

Alternatively, you may (even having engaged a "good" lawyer) be the unfortunate client who suffers a loss as a consequence of the mistake of that "good" lawyer.  All lawyers (however "good") will make mistakes in their careers.  Thankfully, most mistakes are not serious; do not cause the client to suffer any loss; and/or are easily remedied.  However, some mistakes do cause the client loss and it may be in those circumstances that you can recover that loss from the solicitor in what is known as a professional negligence claim.

Robert Johnson and Carolyn Wilson have specialist experience and expertise in professional negligence claims against solicitors, barristers, surveyors, valuers, architects, accountants and others.  They are both members of the professional negligence lawyers association.
