Experience
Partner and head of employment law - undertaking all aspects of employment law and industrial relations law.
Nick advises on all aspects of employment law and industrial relations, including contractual issues, TUPE, discrimination, redundancy programmes and employment tribunal claims. He has significant experience and expertise in advising companies on the legal aspects of management change including mergers, acquisitions, restructures and consultation obligations. He regularly advises on senior appointments and terminations, contractual disputes, restrictions and business protection arrangements.
Since September 2009 Nick has worked with Healys' solicitors in London. Before this he worked for four years as director of legal services at a legal and people management consultancy. Previously Nick headed the in-house team advising on all the employment law and industrial relations aspects of the £7bn London Underground PPP and on other PFI projects.
As well as advising on all aspects of employment law and in particular industrial relations, Nick has considerable experience of the practical application of TUPE and has been involved in and advised on all the employment aspects of a variety of substantial transactions (both acquisitions and disposals) including, HR pre-tender assessment, pre-qualification, due diligence, drafting indemnities and warranties, post-completion variation and disputes, all aspects of collective and individual consultation and dealing with claims both by TUs, individuals and indemnity claims etc.
Nick is a former member of the CBI National Employment Law Panel and regularly makes presentations on a wide variety of employment issues for clients, professional organisations and legal training TV.
