The fast and efficient work of residential conveyancing firms in London and Brighton has helped home buyers in the two cities to be among the areas with the fastest times for property transaction completions in the UK.
According to a survey by website www.home.co.uk, homes for sale in Portslade to the west of Brighton were only on the market for an average of 78 days and in joint second place was the south London district of Balham, and Basingstoke in Hampshire.
The fourth place in the list went back to Brighton and its urban partner Hove which has a turnaround of only 87 days.
At the other end of the scale, property sellers in Llandudno, north Wales, have to wait for an average of 390 days before being able to instruct their conveyancing lawyers to proceed with the contract. Every town of the 20 with the slowest sales were in Wales or the north of England.
The national average quoted on the website is 197 days from the start of an estate agent advertising a home through to its withdrawal after completion of a residential sale through a solicitor.
