Junior Office Assistant

A vacancy has arisen for an office assistant to join our friendly, centrally-located Brighton office.

You will be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, discrete, flexible and adaptable, with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude. An aptitude for and interest in IT is also desirable and you must be willing and able to lift & carry, as necessary (within reason).

You will be responsible for post, archiving & general administrative duties in the Brighton office and also for covering the main reception desk every Friday and for the receptionist’s breaks each day.

The role would suit a school or college leaver or someone returning to the workplace after a break. We cannot consider law graduates or paralegals for this position.

Ideally you will be available to start soon and live within easy reach of our Brighton office.

Legal Secretary - Dispute Resolution

We are seeking an experienced legal secretary to join our busy & friendly Dispute Resolution department in central Brighton.

You will be supporting a small team, alongside another part-time legal secretary, dealing with a range of client-focussed secretarial and administrative tasks. You will assist partners with a range of administrative tasks, to include monthly billing and file management.

You will have previous legal secretarial experience, ideally in a dispute resolution/commercial litigation team, but we will consider experience gained in other legal areas. 

You will also have:

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how your role contributes to the success of the business;
  • Experience of legal billing, with a good standard of numeracy;
  • Good IT skills and fast, accurate typing, including audio;
  • Good administrative and time management skills;
  • Strong written and spoken English & excellent interpersonal skills;
  • A proactive and responsible team approach;
  • A flexible and adaptable style & willingness to develop and adapt to changing business needs;
  • A professional, confident approach to work.

We offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday a year plus Bank Holidays and a company pension scheme.

This is a full-time, office-based role and salary is at market rate.
